Archivo MUTEK is a listening session dedicated to the concerts that have defined the history of MUTEK MX. Complete performances, listened to from beginning to end, in the space and with the attention they deserve. A curation that spans more than two decades of digital creativity and electronic music in Mexico City, in collaboration with MUTEK MX.

High-quality audio files directly from the console: raw recordings, just as they sounded in the venue on the night of the concert. We play them through the OJAS stereo system, amplified by tubes, a system designed to restore realism and detail to the sound.
From the MUTEK MX archive, we recovered this recording of the concert that Alva Noto presented on November 22, 2017 at Auditorio BlackBerry, as part of the festival's 14th edition. Under the name Alva Noto, Carsten Nicolai creates electronic music from precise rhythms, micro-sounds, and textures that move between the abstract and the atmospheric. That night he presented UNIEQAV, an audiovisual performance where sound and image happened simultaneously: the pulses, glitches, and silences of the concert were in dialogue with geometric projections and visual data. A piece from the MUTEK MX archive that now can be heard in full again on sona.
MUTEK MX is the international platform for digital creativity and electronic music that has accompanied, nurtured, and expanded the experimental scene in Mexico City since 2003. More than a festival, MUTEK MX functions as an active node within the city's cultural ecosystem: a meeting point where musicians, visual artists, designers, programmers, and audiences come together to imagine new relationships between sound, technology, and shared experience.

no, but we recommend wearing something comfortable for sitting on the floor. because the room is very quiet, we recommend soft fabrics. try to avoid "noisy" synthetic materials like nylon or windbreakers, as the sound of moving in them can be distracting to others. also, we leave our shoes at the door, so we recommend wearing warm socks.
if you need a chair for medical or physical reasons, please let us know when you arrive.
yes, we serve a curated selection of non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks, but all refreshments must be finished before you enter the soundroom.
