Sunday, September 20 | 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm (90 mins)
A series of sessions curated by people and projects we admire. Brands, festivals, friends, and selectors invite us to listen through their ears. Here, what is heard matters as much as who chooses it.

This experience uses files specially created for sona, mixed in Dolby Atmos from the original files of the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández. The material was prepared for this listening experience, preserving the original performances and working on its mix to take advantage of the space and possibilities of immersive sound.
4 seats remaining - 90-minute session
Amalia Hernández took the musical roots of Mexico and brought them to a new stage. She studied them, reinterpreted them, and created a new stage language with them. With sounds from Huasteca to Guerrero, from Isthmus to Sonora, from the Maya world to the Mexica. A selection of the Ballet's classics, performed by its own musicians, mixed for deep listening. Step into the music and discover its instruments, voices, rhythms, and arrangements from within. An immersive Dolby Atmos production, co-designed with Salvador López Maldonado, the Ballet's musical director.
Salvador López Maldonado is the musical director of the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández, the great-grandson of its founder and creator, Amalia Hernández. He is a composer of music for film, television, and theater, a producer, and a musician. His work combines orchestral writing with elements of traditional Mexican music, electronic music, and genres from different parts of the world, exploring new sonic possibilities from a contemporary perspective.

if you need a chair for medical or physical reasons, please let us know when you arrive.
yes, we serve a curated selection of non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks, but all refreshments must be finished before you enter the soundroom.
