why MUTEK presenta: Visible Cloaks — Paradessence
MUTEK presents the premiere of Visible Cloaks' Paradessence. Paradessence, the third full-length album by Visible Cloaks, is a work of emergence and illusion. The album's fourteen songs shift, churn, and gleam against a faintly luminous nocturnal backdrop, a cavernous space shaped by hyperreal and austere representations of the natural world. The arrangements are simultaneously grand and fragile, both a reversal and culmination of what came before, as well as an exploration as adventurous as anything they have produced to date. Since they changed from Cloaks to Visible Cloaks in 2014, Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile have mapped a complex matrix of opposing concepts: organic and artificial, chance and intention, authentic and replicated. Paradessence's delicate balance brings these tensions to a point of greater urgency, at a time when life in the 21st century is being reordered precisely by those same frictions. can i cancel my ticket?+
yes, you can cancel your booking 24 hours before the session through this website. we will give you a credit to book a future date. we do not offer cash refunds, and we cannot offer credits for cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice.
is there a dress code?+
no, but we recommend wearing something comfortable for sitting on the floor. because the room is very quiet, we recommend soft fabrics. try to avoid "noisy" synthetic materials like nylon or windbreakers, as the sound of moving in them can be distracting to others. also, we leave our shoes at the door, so we recommend wearing warm socks.
what if i can't sit on the floor?+
if you need a chair for medical or physical reasons, please let us know when you arrive.
can i buy a drink?+
yes, we serve a curated selection of non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks, but all refreshments must be finished before you enter the soundroom.
