On her new album, Girl Ultra—the project of Mexican singer Mariana de Miguel—leaves behind the homemade R&B of her early work for a darker, freer pop sound, co-produced with funk duo Chromeo. It features synthesizers, analog funk, distorted guitars, and dub textures, with echoes of ’80s pop, Latin rock, and the Mexican nightlife she grew up around. It’s a nocturnal, cinematic album about desire, friendship, heartbreak, and intimacy, where romance becomes a form of rebellion.

Apple Music brings together one of the largest music catalogs in the world and has helped raise streaming standards through careful curation, a commitment to artists, and the adoption of high-fidelity formats such as Lossless and Dolby Atmos. Its vision combines discovery, quality, and a deep appreciation for music as a listening experience.
