why The Ship - Brian Eno
If you're expecting another ambient album from Brian Eno, The Ship may surprise you. It is one of his most narrative works. The idea arose from the Titanic and World War I, two moments Eno saw as connected by the same question: what happens when trust in progress ends up becoming tragedy? The album also marked an unexpected change for him. While working on the main piece, he discovered that, over the years, his voice had dropped in range and for the first time he could sing a low C. That new voice eventually became the center of the album and gave rise to a work conceived as a sonic space one could navigate through.

FAQ
can i cancel my ticket?+
yes. cancel any booking through this website. you'll get credits for the seats you paid for if you cancel at least 24 hours before the session (12 hours if you have an active Sona Members or All Access subscription). inside that window the booking can still be cancelled, but no credits are issued and there are no cash refunds. credits work on any future session.
is there a dress code?+
no, but we recommend wearing something comfortable for sitting on the floor. because the room is very quiet, we recommend soft fabrics. try to avoid "noisy" synthetic materials like nylon or windbreakers, as the sound of moving in them can be distracting to others. also, we leave our shoes at the door, so we recommend wearing warm socks.
what if i can't sit on the floor?+
if you need a chair for medical or physical reasons, please let us know when you arrive.
can i buy a drink?+
yes, we serve a curated selection of non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks, but all refreshments must be finished before you enter the soundroom.
